Unveiling Brazil's first Biodiversity Credits by Hannah Simmons

Era, a women-led company, launched Brazil's first biodiversity credits to incentivize land stewards for habitat protection through their biodiversity crediting protocol. This protocol emphasizes inclusion, low adoption barriers, and nature-positive contributions, with credits defined by habitat area and stewardship factors. The project aims to mitigate nature loss and enhance conservation funding, requiring private sector engagement and government support for effective implementation.
