Agnes Were holds a science laboratory technician certificate from Kenya Polytechnic University. Sheis involved in carrying out seed viability tests such as weight determination, purity analysis, germination and moisture content analysis. She also packs and labels seeds for dissemination, prepares reagents, and compiles and updates data for analysis. In the molecular laboratory, Agnes assists in basic laboratory techniques such as buffer preparation, autoclaving as well as maintenance of the consumables inventory.
