Science needs clear communication channels to cut through the noise, if research is to have any impact. CIFOR-ICRAF is as passionate about sharing our knowledge as we are in generating it.
Dr Ambadipudi Jaya Prakash is a geospatial scientist and programmer at CIFOR-ICRAF, specializing ingeospatial cloud computing for environmental monitoring and forest landscape analysis. His work applies remote sensing, machine learning and data science to assess forest ecosystems, carbon sequestration and phenological dynamics. His technical expertise includes the integration of advanced geospatial technologies such as Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), optical and LiDAR remote sensing for applications in forestry and climate science. He holds a PhD in geoinformatics and remote sensing from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur. Dr Prakash’s work contributes to improved environmental decision making through cutting-edge spatial analysis, supporting both research and policy for sustainable land and resource management.
