We seek to sustain and expand transformative capacity development and learning initiatives beyond the life of external projects or funding cycles, so that stakeholders at all scales are empowered to shape a just world where sustainable landscapes support resilient livelihoods.

OBJECTIVES

Researchers are equipped with the knowledge and skills to embrace transdisciplinary approaches, driving integrated research for sustainable solutions.

Landscape stakeholders are enabled and empowered to drive action for sustainable landscape management and embrace systems thinking and integrated approaches.

Tertiary and higher education curricula are driving innovation through embedded, competence-based and transformative learning that empowers future change makers.

WHAT WE DO

Supporting design and operationalization of capacity development throughout the project cycle, building on existing capacity development activities, enriching these with methods and tools for assessment, competency frameworks, and innovative learning design.

Transforming knowledge into innovative learning products that are rooted in our science and fit for purpose, linking on-the-ground and online learning, communities of practice, and learning journeys, supported through tools and a robust digital infrastructure.

Partnering with tertiary educational institutions to facilitate networking and cross-learning, build sustainability and innovation in forestry and agroforestry education, and enable students to tackle the complex challenges of our time.

Reflexive research in and on capacity development to optimize investment and maximize impact, using transdisciplinary case studies to inform transformative learning in context.
