Description

Complex sustainable development challenges require integrated solutions such as landscape approaches. These approaches aim to balance competing land-use demands in ways that advance human well-being and strengthen the resilience of natural systems. Recognizing the importance of such innovations, the European Commission established the Landscapes For Our Future Program in 2020. This currently supports 23 integrated landscape management initiatives across the Global South. In this project, CIFOR and ICRAF will offer technical guidance on these initiatives and co-generate, synthesize and disseminate knowledge and lessons from their implementation. Since reliable evidence on best landscape development practices, strategies and pathways remains elusive, this project will enable policy makers and practitioners alike to develop and scale more effective and landscape-appropriate integrated SDG solutions. The geographic locations of this project are: Bolivia, Brazil/Paraguay, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic/Chad, Cambodia, Cameroon, Colombia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ecuador, Ghana, Honduras, Jamaica, Kenya, Laos, Mauritius, Myanmar, the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States, Papua New Guinea, Sao Tome, Senegal, Timor Leste, Vietnam and Zimbabwe.
